The Fort Island Sharks Swim Team is open to all Fort Island Swim Club members aged 18 years and younger. The age groupings for league competition are 8 and under, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and 15-18. The younger swimmers should have passed Red Cross Level III swim lessons prior to competing. The team competes in the Splash League, which includes area teams from Blue Heron, Shaw Jewish Community Center and Macedonia.
Registration
Team registration and payment will be handled through Wild Apricot for all members. Non-members will register using a Google Form and can coordinate payment through Kyle Crocker.
Practice
Practice Begins – Wednesday, June 7, 9:00-10:15 am; continuing daily Monday-Friday.
Meet Schedule:
Six dual meets are scheduled, (three home / three away):
- Tuesday June 20: Away at Macedonia
- Thursday, June 22: Home vs JCC
- Wednesday, June 28: Home vs Macedonia
- Thursday, July 6: Away at Piranhas
- Tuesday, July 11: Away at JCC
- Tuesday, July 18: Home vs Piranhas
Dual meet warm-ups are @ 5:00 PM for the home team and 5:30 PM for the visitors with the meet beginning @ 6:00 PM.
Championship Meet: July 22 (Sat) at Wooster YMCA.
Warm ups at 8 AM. Meet starts at 10 AM.
Team Suits
We will have (optional) team suits this summer. These can be ordered from our team page with Aquatic Outfitters using our bulk code FORTISLAND23@SWIM. In order to have the suits ahead of our first meet, they must be ordered by Sunday, May 28th. Orders submitted through the site by this date will be delivered to the pool ahead of our first meet with no shipping fees. Orders can be placed after this, but will be shipped individually. We will have sample suits in a full range of sizes available to try on at the pool starting on opening day, Saturday, May 27th.
Spirit Wear
Spirit wear is available for purchase from our team page with A-1 Sports. Orders for delivery will be closed on June 4th to allow for delivery before our first meet.
